“It was absolutely brilliant. To be able to do yoga on such a beautiful beach with a small group of likeminded people was so relaxing and such a great way to connect.”

I’m going to sign off social media for (at least
I’m going to sign off social media for (at least) the summer holidays, so I can reclaim my attention, time and brainpower and put it where it’s needed.

Though I’ve been pretty anti-tech throughout my daughter’s life, I had this scary realisation that she is growing up, noticing that Mom and Dad are always within arms reach of their phones, as if the phones are an extension of our limbs.

Coupled with that, and I'm really feeling like I need a break for my own mental health and wellness.

Its time to recharge. I want to be fully present.  I want to feel in complete alignment with my values again: finding joy in the simplicities of life, the quiet moments, the togetherness with my family.

So Ta Ta For Now!  And Happy Holidays!

Please DM me if you’d like my phone number to stay in touch.  Maybe we can even arrange a catch up over the holidays.  That’d be nice.  :)

Lucky for me that this year, my surfing experience
Lucky for me that this year, my surfing experience - which exceeded the other competitors’ entire lifetimes - played in my favour, and I got to take home what has to be the coolest trophy on the East Coast: the coveted Redhead shark tower. I know it won’t be long till all the younger girls are blowing me out of the water, so better enjoy this beauty on full display while I have it. :)

I have to say (again), that this whole experience was um...a bit out of my comfort zone 😆. Each time the deadline for entries approached, I’d ask myself (and Sam) “Should I sign up again?” And each time, at the very last minute, sometimes just a tad later, I registered. I’ve come to learn that usually the most rewarding experiences (and not referring to the trophy haha) come after consistently showing up, even when it’s hard or feels uncomfortable. Surfing was the first thing to teach me that.

So thanks again to everyone in @redheadboardriders who were super welcoming and encouraging. Thanks for consistently putting on an awesome event! It's so fun to watch and admire all the shredders and emerging surfers.

And thanks to the sponsors @cuva_concepts @rivviaprojects @sanbahsurf for the epic prize pack! @shortie__surfboards is just as stoked as I am. 😆

Coming to the end of the year, I've been thinking
Coming to the end of the year, I've been thinking a lot about my last New Year's Resolution and what I learned - how I grew.

Previously, I came to the realisation that I had always talked about community, yet I was actually a bit of a loner. (Correction - major loner). All my life, I've "marched to the beat of my own drum" (or so I've been told), and never felt like I belonged to any one group of people, club or ideology.

Last year, I really wanted to see what community was all about. I joined my local boardriders club; became part of the Sustainable Neighbourhood Group of Redhead; found a little yoga community; dabbled in the Longboard surfing club; and even found groups to join to help me pursue my interests and passions in diving and sailing.

Okay - so I reeeally dove in, and though I was completely out of my comfort zone in almost every situation, the outcome has been worth it. I've loved meeting so many new faces, love sharing my passions with other like-minded people, and contributing in (very) small ways for the greater good. I'm finally seeing what community is all about. Thanks to everyone who welcomed me and encouraged me to come along to gatherings and events.

So here's to making New Year's Resolutions - to transitioning through milestone birthdays 😆 and knowing it's never too late to live the life you want, or become the person you want to be.

Join us this Saturday for our last event of the ye
Join us this Saturday for our last event of the year. This will be a peaceful morning down the beach, moving through a 45 minute gentle yoga flow, swimming in the ocean, then connecting through conversation over our theme of the month - reflecting and letting go what doesn't serve us.

You can come for the whole immersion, or simply join for a morning yoga session, using code JUSTYOGA at checkout to come from 9 am - 9:45 am.

Hope to see you there. 😊❤️
